Welcome
My name is Lauren and I am the owner/operator of Salon Penn. My husband Jim and I are parents of a fantastically wonderfully excited lover of life 5 year old boy. Doing hair is not a job to me. It is an extension of who I am and what I love to do which is to help others to go out in confidence and live their best life.
My Story
Background
I began my career in 1999 and have had great opportunities to be trained by top professionals in the industry, including working at Vidal Sassoon and learning their method of haircutting. I am a Board Certified Haircolorist and have been trained through The Redken Exchange, Arrojo and TIGI Academy. I have worked in hair salons including The Village Salon in Pennington, NJ and Pure Eco Salon in Yardley, PA.

I began a special interest in curly hair about 10 years ago and set my sights on learning all that I could on textured hair. Since then, I have been a Curl Coach for Deva Curl and have been certified in the Rezo way of cutting. I fell in love with curly hair and have been enjoying specializing in this service and educating my clients with new styling and cutting techniques.

Having a child sensitive to haircutting was the inspiration to begin this service. It made me look back through my years of experience in salon settings to realize servicing those with sensory sensitivities needed a different approach. I have made a commitment to pursue education on autism and sensory processing disorder by taking courses offered on different platforms, including certifications courses and discussing approaches with educators and parents. It is my goal to offer a positive experience to everyone that visits the salon. I will work with the individual and caregivers to build trust and a plan moving forward.
